Gourmet House For More Than Gourmands
OK, so I just had a BLT and my husband ordered French onion soup and a side salad. Hardly the fare on which to base a restaurant review. But we found that, good as the soup, salad and sandwich were, the Gourmet House at 800 Milwaukee Avenue -- and, yes, that is in South Milwaukee -- has more going for it that gastronomical delights.

Countering an "Occupy" Disser
Someone I know who is articulate and has strong moral and polical beliefs, sent a letter to the local newspaper rebutting what she thought was fallacious reasoning about the Occupy Movement in an opinion piece the paper published. The paper chose not to publish her letter, perhaps because it was just so spot on.
