Area Dogs Impressed with Dog Recreation Area
I hope all of you who are dog owners have had a chance to check out the new Dog Park! I took my dog, Jet, and she was a little scared at first but now she loves it. The Dog Park is fantastic! My whole family loves it and I look forward to using it for years to come.
In other news, the Garlic Mustard Pickers will be playing on Saturday, Sept. 11th for Friends of LaFollette Park at 9418 W. Washington St, Milwaukee. The band will perform between 4 and 6 pm. For full details check out the band's site at http://thegarlicmustardpickers.org .
In the world of running, I ran the Cudahy Classic 5/10 mile race and the Badgerland Striders Half-Marathon. It was fairly hot and humid for both races. My son ran both races with me. The Cudahy Classic was held in Sheridan and Warnimont parks, while the Half-Marathon course included South Shore Park, Bay View Park and Sheridan, Warnimont and Grant Parks. These races would not be possible without our County Parks.
